Another Chance.

Every day can be a new day. It is like this fridge magnet that John gave Grandma many years ago which was probably a premonition about having his own baby girl with long hair who found the world fascinating. Lily can laugh with the best of them and we all can be grateful for another chance to celebrate all kinds of things.

June is a month of graduation, spring planting, wading into summer weather and all the work and fun that that brings. Peter worked very hard at learning to find his nose and finally succeeded.

Clark passed Grade One and Brigham and Grant graduated too. Clark was able to show off his very own project that depicted his interpretation of a “fairy town” and then he got his certificate the next day to say he was going into Grade Two. His parents were very proud for him as we all are for everyone who moves on to new adventures.

Congratulations everyone for a job well done.

We had a few birthdays in June. Grandpa and Janet do have to share but at least they are not forgotten. Peter had his share of chocolate and Clark read Grandpa the news.

The renovations at Jensen Dam are almost complete and it is nice to have witnessed that accomplishment too.

New tents are always an awesome experience. Clark and Grant and Peter enjoyed playing in their new tent.

Karren is looking for an efficient air conditioner for her apartment. We all will have to be inventive when it comes to keeping cool because the weather is so hot these days especially it seems in Utah. Lisa has hot weather in Chicago too but we are hoping her apartment has air conditioning. Meanwhile the rest of us have been trying other tactics. Janet and Adam and all of the kids love boating on St. Mary's dam. Janet is becoming quite proficient on skis and it is perfect weather for it right now.

When Grandma and Grandpa and Karren hiked on the Boundary Bay trail to the border, it was actually a little cool. The hike itself though, seemed like it was a little longer than usual and there were surprisingly more people than usual on the trail. We did enjoy seeing what things looked like after the fire. It made the hike seem like a brand new experience. The flowers among the dead trees were beautiful and gave one pause for thought about life and trials and painful things and then what happens after all the hard things finally end. Everyone approaches these moments in life in a different way and it is interesting to watch what develops and how we are blessed after much trial and tribulation.

And finally, the hay is being swathed.

We hope that we get some return for all the work but isn’t that the hope we have for everything that we do. We are so grateful for always believing that we have another chance.
