It is described as a feeling of excitement about something that is going to happen in the near future. That is what we call anticipation. Every day it builds and builds until finally Christmas morning arrives. So this week is a week of anticipation. Sometimes it is hard to find things to do when everything seems to be ready and all you can do is wait. Grandma and Grandpa were very busy though. The quonset finally has a concrete floor.

Finally after many many years of anticipation Grandma can honestly say that she has her own real live gym to play in. It has enough room for a full sized basketball court –almost. You could roller blade, roller skate, skateboard, play floor hockey, volleyball or anything else you could imagine. We are working on lights and insulation and heat too. Won’t that be exciting? For this we are waiting with bated breath and anticipation.
Grandma and Grandpa had some unexpected Carolers this week who came by their door and surprised them and sang so beautifully. Grant and Clark also had to sing in Church last week before the shut down was in place. So they did some serious practicing.
Karren made it home to spend a few days in lock down with Grandma and Grandpa. We were able to celebrate her birthday even though it was rather belated. We wish that Lisa had been here with us.

Grandma and Grandpa and Karren were able to go to Waterton to try some cross country skiing on the weekend. While they were there they saw a lot of sheep and a coyote.

The skiing was fun but Grandma did fall down a few times and declared that it was the most difficult thing to get back up again. Grandpa did not laugh at her at all and helped her quite gallantly to get up again. :(

Later that night Grandma and Grandpa tried to get out to see the Great Conjunction in the Western sky but alas, there were too many clouds. They will keep trying. On the way to look at the stars they went through a "drive by" real nativity at the fish pond. It was very simple but surely the whole town came and drove by the scene. Some of the cars and trucks were all lit up with Christmas lights and decorations. It was a great event.

Brigham and JR are getting very excited and are trying to be good boys. Joanie and Alec and the little boys set up their telescope to see the Great Conjunction. It was a fun (and chilly) winter solstice. They are very excited to Christmas, but mostly excited for a bit of a break.

Janet and Adam are busy too. Adam has worked quite a few hours this past week but Janet and Clark and Grant and Peter went for trip to go bike riding in Pavan Park. Peter is really walking and is getting into trouble all the time.
Lisa finally was able to get her Covid vaccine. The rest of us are greatly anticipating that event in our lives as well.
John and Amy have a lot of waiting to do still. Not only for Christmas but for a new little one to decide that it is time to finally come to earth. Won’t that be a wonderful day? They have been enjoying all their tasty eggs. This last week they also had a nice quiet Hanukkah and decorated their beautiful Christmas tree.

Here are also some great pictures of the new family addition.

Meanwhile, everyone is getting really excited in anticipating what Christmas will bring. We can hardly wait.
