Change
Oh my. When Grandma and Grandpa decide to make a change, things just seem to take off. It started off with wanting to change the kitchen floor and fixing up the cupboards and changing the light fixtures and getting new appliances. That turned into getting rid of lots of furniture, refinishing the front hardwood floor, fixing up the kitchen better in the basement, painting and painting some more, putting in tile backsplashes, changing rugs and pictures and it just keeps going and going. Now the carpet on the stairs look horrible and something needs to be done there as well as finding something better for the upstairs loft. This could get a little out of control but it is fun to change and see what difference a few minor tweaks can make. Meanwhile the before and after pictures are interesting and Grandma and Grandpa are getting really good at stepping around the stairs from the basement to the upstairs because they are not supposed to walk on the new refurbished hardwood in the front hall for several days. It has been quite the adventure.

Grant decided to go for a ride/run with Grandma and Grandpa for a change. They saw many interesting things on their little journey. They stopped to watch a “movie” of a big crushing machine that was crushing cars in this empty field north of Magrath. They saw lots of other things like deer tracks and chickens and horses and people who were out running and biking. It was fun.

There are lots of changes that show that spring is still trying to get here. The willows are all changing color and the geese are on their nests and the weather is just a tad bit warmer.

There is a very dramatic change in the running trail around the spill gates. Last week’s fire definitely left its mark and it was obvious how hot the fire must have been by the pattern of ash and the way the trees were burned.

There is a lot of change in everyone’s life.
John and Amy are excitedly awaiting the next big change in their lives, which includes both chickens and a new precious little baby. They have had a couple of spring projects, including building a coup for their chickens and exploring the mountains.

Karren and Lisa would like a few things to change like work and Relief Society but patience is being developed in all of our lives. Even though change seems to hit you suddenly, sometimes change takes place in an excruciatingly slow pace. Patience then indeed becomes a virtue.
Joanie and Alec are patiently waiting for spring so they can plant their plants out in the yard and put their exotic fruit trees in the yard. Brigham and JR are happy to not wait, and just enjoy whatever is going on now.

Janet and Adam are making more slow changes with their yard and house and little Clark is slowly learning how to play baseball. It is a lot of work to say the least.
Meanwhile spring keeps persisting. We are hearing robins outside our windows in the mornings and the grass is somewhat greener. The farmers are chomping at the bit and are buying seed and fertilizer in spite of the increase in prices. Grandma and Grandpa will have several more weeks of upheaval. But that little bit of change and anticipation of change is what adds spice to life and makes everything an adventure!
