Optimistic Anticipation:

Whether it is done quietly or with enthusiasm, we are all just a little optimistic that soon the border will open and then we say “let it rip!’ it will be like the flood gates have been opened and we will be set free!!!!!

We can come and go hopefully at will and see each other without worrying about Covid.

Meanwhile, the waiting continues. Peter is learning how to jump on a trampoline

He likes to eat his picnic lunch in the car while the rest of the family are planting the garden.

Spring is always a time of celebration and sometimes it seems like the waiting is finally over when all the blossoms pop out on the apple trees and everyone is buying flowers and planting new trees and cleaning up the yard.

Don’t you just love Grandma’s working coveralls?

John and Amy like camping out in the back yard and Lily is being quite optimistic about riding in her new stroller.

Clark was also eagerly anticipating a visit from the tooth fairy and Grant is working very hard at doing flips on the trampoline. We sincerely hope that he doesn’t break his neck!

Grandma and Grandpa and Karren finally got in the first real hike of the year into Rowe Meadow. It was a little bit of a challenge because of all the snow on the trail but it was beautiful. They saw lots of thrilling sites and saw a few interesting animals like this little Grouse so wonderfully camouflaged in the grass. When the hike was done Grandma was just a little stiff but she will keep practicing so her legs can get longer and stronger so she can go on hikes all summer!!!

Lisa is still trapped in Chicago.

We got to see Karren finally after a month or so and she is still busy answering Relief Society distress calls and answering questions for general authorities in leadership meetings.

Joanie and Alec and Brigham and JR are having their own little adventures and we are all excited to get together as soon as we can.

Grandma found some pictures of when she had babies at home and when they were all hoping that spring would come soon too.

There is also a picture of what it was like in our back yard many, many years ago when they planted really big gardens and everyone helped in them all year round. This is a picture of Con Watson and Jane Woolley in the garden where Grandma Karren’s house is now.
