Hot and More Hot

The weather is record breaking and so are the fires on the west coast and so are the sunsets and sunrises and the very red full moon and the awesome red sun at night.
Playing in the sun is setting records too as the family plays, with those that can, in Waterton and for the 24th of July.
Everyone was busy having fun.

Notice how far behind Grandma was on the hikes and how many teeth Clark lost. Check out the Owl on the branches and the burnt trees with the beautiful flowers along the Creek. It was awesome to go canoeing at Cameron and the bonfire at Pass Creek was awesome. Bill let us use his new e-bikes and we all went along the bike path to the entrance of the Park and Back again and thankfully no one was killed as they were all going way too fast.
There was the usual food and Bear’s Hump and then back home to do lawns and water for the 24th. The parade was wonderful considering there wasn’t one last year and there were tons of people and cars all over the place. Everywhere you looked there were family reunions and at night there were bands playing and dances were held at the arena.
After the parade Grandma Karren had her little get-together on the back lawn and then there were the races and exhibits and bull riding and lawn mower races. There was beef on a bun and all sorts of attractions.
The fireworks were set off at the soccer fields and we watched from Janet and Adam’s front lawn. They didn’t start until 11:00 so it was a rather late night but so much fun.

Karren unfortunately had to go back to Calgary to take care of business and Lisa as always was just working. One of these days we will get her home to play for just a bit. Joanie and Alec are having fun in Provo. Brigham likes the Halloween roller coaster on his virtual headset and JR is surviving the heat. John and Amy and little Lily are doing their best to work and play and stay out of the heat. It has been such a wonderful week or two and things seem to be a little more hopeful as Covid seems to be slowing down a bit. Raspberries are on, the gardens are flourishing and the lawns are just out of control where they are watered.
It is such a dilemma whether to water and mow more or have brown lawns and mow less. I guess that is life, trying to figure it all out. Grandma for one hasn’t quite gotten there yet. She just loves the busy-ness and the work and the play and her amazing family.
