“New Normal?”

Staying still and staying home has been quite a journey. We are ready to get back to normal, even if it is to the “new normal”, and we know that that in itself will be an adventure. There have been many things we have learned and things we have become interested in as we have dealt with all the craziness around us.

John and Amy’s chickens are good producers and have given them something else to keep track of. Amy was offered a new job, which she starts soon. And the new little Leishman girl looks somewhat angelic in her most recent ultrasound :) So many new "normals!"

Janet and Adam have been surviving the lock down in an interesting way. Grant has become quite the photographer. He loves taking pictures of their daily activities.

Brigham has found a new little room to sleep in, and JR has discovered new words, mostly "show" and "pop" (for popsicle). There is no spoiling going on there. Joanie and Alec bought a nice new couch, although Brigham was upset because this couch was much less conducive to headstands.

We had a few birthdays in the family this week. Karren and Lisa never get the recognition that they deserve. It is quite unfair that their birthdays are in December, in that we not only lump their birthdays into one, but they also have to battle all things Christmas. We really hope that they still got a tiny bit of a celebration, regardless of the "new normal". We know that the nephews (and new niece) couldn't have an aunt better that KK. They are always so happy and excited to see and play with her. Not many people would show that much love to these rambunctious little ones. We are grateful for her and we love her! Lisa prefers less praise than she deserves, but it is hard not to say that we appreciate all she does, all the hard work she puts in, all the prayers she says, and all the thoughts she sends our way. We know she would be the first one to show up if we ever really needed anything. We love her! We love them both.

Grandma and Grandpa also had an interesting week. It was rather warm and so they had quite a few mornings going for a slow jog around town.

They are getting ready to pour cement in the quonset.

And the windmills were barely moving because it was so still which is quite a rare thing, and makes us all nervous.

A few hours were spent watching soccer (which isn't as much of a new normal, as just normal).

We won’t talk about BYU Football. And it was very wonderful to start getting the living room revamped with a new grey couch.

So, even as Covid rages, life moves along and how grateful we are for that. Maybe the new normal won't be too bad.
