ON GOING or GOING ON

Well the projects are never done and they just keep rolling on and on. We wonder sometimes who is really in charge, you or the projects, and you truly wonder if they will ever end. But like Grandpa says, when the projects are done then so are you. Something like that :) Undoubtedly, there is always something new to get done.

This week was spent finally fixing the furnace so it worked without a single hitch. It was a bit of a miracle. It was nice to get it done because the weather chased itself up and down, and the temperature was not consistent. One day it would snow and be very cold and the next it would be melting. It was horribly windy for several days and the we got quite tired of dealing with it and for a few days at the end of the week the weather was rather subdued and a little sleepy. It was a welcome relief.

Meanwhile, they were able to start the framing for the new door at the quonset.

They had to be a bit careful because of the dead porcupine next to the back door of the quonset. It was rather morbidly frozen but we were glad that it wasn’t eating any more trees. Grandpa finished burning the second pile of sticks. It took about three and a half hours and it was a big, big job. It eventually burned everything right down to bare earth. It was one more project off the list, hurray.

Grandma has been working on a project to transfer all of the old slides onto the computer. It is a project that will take years and years but it is really fun. Grandma forgot that she was a pretty good looking graduate assistant, that she went repelling, that she had a really snazzy car and that her first baby was adorable (As were all of her babies) and that she married into an awesome family. It was nice to see pictures of Margaret Ririe. Grandma Leishman loved her grandmas and it was nice to look at pictures of them.

Karren has several projects on the go but mostly Relief Society and work take most of her time. It is fun when she comes home for the weekend. The movies are always more interesting when she is there to watch them with Grandma and Grandpa.

The Williams family almost finished a project of putting up a bunk bed for Clark and Grant. It has been a fun thing to accomplish. They have also been busy shoveling sidewalks and fixing up their beautiful house and taking care of Grandma and Grandpa. :)

John and Amy are still working on their project of getting a little baby girl here from Heaven. There are about six more weeks give or take a few. Meanwhile, they still have work and new callings as Primary Teachers to keep them busy, and of course taking care of the backyard chickens and keeping them warm and safe.

Lisa is working on a project of determining what her future will look like next year. She may need some Heavenly help for that one.

Joanie and Alec and Brigham and JR have a myriad of projects of their own. Their painting is almost done and the basement looks awesome. The boys have been great helps and still love having popsicles as treats. We would love to see the pictures of their hothouse filled with all kinds of projects on the go.

One of Joanie’s projects is also helping Grandma do the website every week. It takes effort and time but we do appreciate the results. It has been wonderful especially for Grandma. Thank You Joanie!

So hurrah for projects that are ongoing and meaningful. Isn’t it wonderful that there is always something to do?
